Crayfish Theater on Crayfish Day!

Did you know there was such a thing as Crayfish Day? Well, friends, there is, and it’s today, April 17! While some folks might celebrate by serving up a bowl o’ spicy crawfish (or crayfish as this Northerner calls them!), you have a theatrical alternative: a play featuring this little crustacean! [Click here to jump to the play, FUNERAL FOR A CRAYFISH] How often can you say you’ve done “Crayfish Theater?”

FUNERAL FOR A CRAYFISH is a short 2-hander play, about students in school studying classroom crayfish. But when one meets an untimely demise, Ari and Quinn need to figure out the crayfish's identity (was it Juliet's crayfish? Or Ari's crayfish?). The play features the noble crayfish, but it’s also about friendship, problem-solving, and working together. It’s a fun short piece (around 5-7 minutes long) great for a festival of shorts, classroom use, Reader’s Theater, Thespian Competitions (duo interpt) or just to enjoy on Crayfish Day!

It also includes a fun Question and Answer page all about crayfish!
